The most popular route from Canada to Australia is from either Vancouver International Airport or Pearson International Airport in Toronto to Kingsford Smith International Airport in Sydney. It’s a long route that can sometimes take you about two days to travel across but there are quite a few options for flights, so you can find one that fits your timeline. You can also opt to fly into Melbourne Airport or Perth.Kingsford Smith International Airport is often referred to as just Sydney Airport. It’s about five miles to the south of the city centre of Sydney. This is the busiest airport in Australia and is a hub for Jetstar Airways, Qantas, and Virgin Australia. For a direct flight you can fly out of Vancouver on Air Canada and land in Sydney at Kingsford Smith International Airport 15h 30m later. Keep in mind there is a huge time difference from Canada to Australia so you’ll lose about two days on your trip there. There are many more flight options that have a stop or two between Canada and Australia.
Flights with stopovers between these two places will sometimes cost a bit less than a direct flight, but not always. You can fly from Vancouver to Sydney through Los Angeles on American Airlines. You can also choose United and fly from Vancouver to Sydney with a stop in San Francisco. Cathay Pacific flies from Vancouver to Sydney but stops in Hong Kong.If you’re going to fly from Toronto, you might still be stopping in San Francisco or Los Angeles.
