The structure was erected as a monument to Rana Veer Singh, who died in battle, and it is a stunning example of ancient Indian architecture. His wife, Queen Rudadev, was instrumental in its creation. Alternatively, if you’re looking for contemporary fun, you may want to allot some time to visit Kankaria Lake, an artificial lake replete with modern rides and toy trains.

If you enjoy architecture, you will want to make sure that you visit the Adalaj Stepwell, which was created in the late 1400s. Learn more about local history by going to the Jama Masjid, a mosque that was created in the early 1400s during the reign of Ahmad Shah I. Don’t miss out on touring the Calico Museum of Textiles, which showcases beautifully woven rugs.
If you are a Canadian citizen, you are legally required to have a visa to visit Ahmedabad or any other city in India. The application process can be completed online, and you should begin your application at least several weeks in advance of when you plan on traveling.
