Highlights include the street party the night before Carnival Tuesday, the crowning of the Carnival Queen on stage in the Recinto Ferial and a grand parade on the last Saturday. Also not to be missed is Los Achipencos, a hectic race across the harbour in comical homemade craft that takes place on the first Sunday of Carnival. Puerto del Rosario is hottest from July to September, with average temperatures of 26-28°C, but the thermometer rarely dips below 21°C at any time of year.
