The length of a flight from Canada to Erbil, Iraq, depends on the city from which you’re flying as well as the number and length of stopovers on the journey. For example, one-stop flights from the eastern cities in Canada, such as Toronto and Montreal, can be as short as 13h 15min, while flights from the western cities of Vancouver and Calgary take at least 19h to reach their destination. No matter where you’re flying from in Canada, you can find trips with multiple long stopovers that take 59h or more to arrive in Erbil.
Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from Canada to Erbil on the current schedules. However, cities near Canada’s east coast do offer a variety of one-stop flights. The best Erbil flight deals are the one-stop flights from Toronto, which usually stop in Frankfurt or Vienna. Along this route, the cheap flights typically last around 33h, but if you’re willing to pay a little bit more for your ticket, you can cut your flight time in half. Flight routes to Erbil from Calgary and Vancouver are similar. From both of these cities, all of the flights require at least two stops. Most of the least expensive and shortest flights have their first stop in Canada (often in Toronto or Montreal) before continuing to Europe for the second stop. Most flights that have their first stops in Europe (such as at Heathrow or Frankfort) have an overall travel time of about 33h.

Erbil is one of the oldest cities in the world, so it should not be surprising that the city is rich with historical sites to visit. Erbil Citadel, a fortified ancient city that sits on top of a hill, is the city’s most famous historic site. It now features a mosque, museums and souvenir shops. Shopping in the covered bazaars around the Citadel and enjoying a cup of chai tea in one of the many traditional tea shops are other popular tourist activities. Erbil Square next to the Citadel is a wonderful place to relax, spend time with the locals and take in the city’s flair. The city is compact and quite walkable, so getting around is a breeze.
