To fly from Canada to Kigali International Airport in Kigali, the length of the flight depends on which major airport you fly out of, and the duration of layovers along the way. If you're departing from Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) in Montreal, it can take around 35h 30min, and up to 42h. From Vancouver International Airport (YVR), flight times can vary from about 36h to 48h. Flights from Pearson International Airport (YYZ) in Toronto range from around 22h 10min to 33h 15min.
Unfortunately, direct flights from Canada to Kigali, Rwanda are currently not available. There are a few ways to travel from the airport to the Kigali city centre. First, there are taxis at any time of day or night; however, taxis generally don’t have metered rides, so you’ll want to confirm the cost per ride or cost per km. KBS offers a direct shuttle service from the airport to the business district in the city centre every hour and costs approximately C$ 1.26. KBS also offers bus lines that lead into the centre and throughout the city. KBS offers single and day trip rates so you can get around Kigali with convenience. Single trips average around C$ 0.40 and day rates around C$ 0.76. Notably, all KBS buses and shuttles are modern and outfitted with WiFi—a huge benefit when out for the day exploring the city.

You do need a valid Canadian passport to travel to Kigali, and the passport must be valid for 6 months after your stay in the Rwandan capital. A visa is required, but you can receive a 30-day visa on arrival. If you’re planning on a longer stay, you must get a 90 tourist visa in Canada before leaving for Kigali.
