More useful links for North America
From the skylines of Toronto and New York to the verdant forests of Panama and the beaches of Cuba, North America is a land of contrasts. Travellers from around the world book cheap flights to North America to explore the culture of its thriving and modern cities; the coral reefs of the Caribbean or the ancient civilizations of Mexico.
Canada and the US are the largest countries and a proliferation of North America flights make travel domestically and south of the border extremely easy. Mexico is a country that blends ancient and modern. The beaches here are perfect for a summer holiday, while inland the Mayan ruins appeal to history-lovers. Panama and Costa Rica are in the central part of the continent and are also fascinating. Costa Rica is a prime destination for eco-tourism. Panama is popular with nature-lovers and has some of the best bird watching and hiking areas in the region.
Many tourists from other continents arrive on flights to North America keen to explore the islands of the Caribbean. Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago are some of the most popular. Unspoiled beaches, coral reefs and world-class resorts define these laid-back destinations and beach-lovers arrive keen to enjoy the almost-guaranteed sunshine.

Peak season:
In America, and domestically, prices rise for travel in the summer months when the weather is best. For the best deals, spring and fall can be good times to travel, when temperatures are still good, but there are fewer tourists. In Mexico and Panama the dry season is from mid-December until mid-April. The Caribbean countries enjoy good weather throughout the year, but the most popular times to travel are in our winter.
Off season:
Generally speaking, the winter time is the off season to travel in the US and in Canada. Exceptions are to the ski resorts and travel over the Christmas and New Year period. In Mexico and Panama the rainy season is from May to November.
If travelling across the entire continent of North America, it is wise to fly, due to the extreme distances involved. Air Canada has North America flights that cover most of the continent. Once you arrive in each country it is most cost effective to search out the cheap flights from discount carriers. There are several low-cost carriers in the US including Southwest, JetBlue, AirTran and Spirit Airlines. Mexico has two large private national carriers: Mexicana and Aeromexico and regional carriers Aerocaribe and Aero Mar, and Aeromexico Connect.
