This is a Review of Aero Mexican Airlines. When my girlfriend, traveling alone was to meet me in Zihuatanejo arrived from Cali in Bogata she was practically strip searched by the Security Team. It took her an hour to get through and included questions about and having to prove how much money she had in her bank account to a full on X-ray of her body. It was an interrogation! Being upset and not having a good experience she had some dinner right out front of her departure gate. When it was time to board her and 6-7 other travelers where afraid that something changed and you can imagine the emotions. She did miss that flight. You’d think that an airline missing 7-8 passengers after they moved the gate would page for the missing passengers and give them enough time to get to the gate. To complicate things even more was that this was a 1:30 am flight. Now that these passengers are all there, some crying that an airline would go out of their way to get them on the 7:30 am flight. Nothing but excuses and no accountability!!! My girlfriend not only missed that flight but her connecting flight out of Mexico City. As everyone knows a lot of time and experience goes into planning a vacation but it’s complicated by an airline that does want to make every passenger experience as good as it can be. I ended up purchasing a one-way ticket for over $800 for the exact same connections. Which was twice what I paid for a Round Trip ticket from Cali to Zihuatanejo.I spent over three hours on the phone in the middle of the night to get help. Plus an Uber ride and a night in a nearby Hotel not to mention we liost a FULL day of our vacation and more importantly our time together. When I asked Aero Mexico to at least compensate me for the ticket that any normal traveler wouldn’t have to purchase they didn’t even try to get to how this happened to all of these passengers. All they want to say to me was that I had a Non-Refundable Ticket, which wasn’t what I was even asking for. No Accountability Period and a lack of human RESPECT. It’s not a perfect industry but my Recommendation is to choose another airline. The extra cost IS worth it because you get what you pay for. Aero Mexico gave us a horrible experience that I will never forgive them for.
