Several cities in Canada service Caracas flight deals, including Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto. When you’ll be flying from Calgary to Caracas, Venezuela, you can plan on the trip taking around 35h in total. If your flight will originate in Montreal, your journey may take you between 9h and 30h on average. Those that will be departing from Toronto can plan for their trip to last anywhere from 28h to 29h before reaching their destination.
Unfortunately, direct flights from Canada to Caracas are not currently available. Depending on what airport you will be flying out of, you may have either one or two stopovers before landing at Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS). Driving is a convenient way to go from Simón Bolívar International Airport to the city centre, and the trip will normally take you anywhere from 40min to 1h depending on what traffic conditions are like at the time. While ridesharing services typically aren’t available in the region, local taxis are usually stationed outside of the airport and waiting for customers. There are also a few car rental companies that have offices at the airport, including Hertz. There is also a local bus line that has a stop outside of the Arrivals terminal and will bring you to the city centre in around 1h.
Those that enjoy hiking won’t want to miss out on a chance to go to the Parque Nacional El Ávila, a mountain range that is considered to be a national park and has many trails. For an interesting attraction to visit, go to the National Pantheon, a building that dates back to the mid-1800s and is the final resting place for many of the country’s national heroes. If you enjoy art, spend a few hours at the Museum of Fine Arts, which features a variety of pieces from around the world and specializes in ceramics. To do some shopping, head to the Boulevard of Sabana Grande, a street that is filled with different boutiques and a charming pedestrian area.
If you are a Canadian citizen, keep in mind that a visa is not required to visit Caracas or any other city in Venezuela. However, if you do not have a visa when you travel to the country, you will only be able to stay for a maximum of 90 days, and you will be considered a tourist. You are required to provide a valid Canadian passport when travelling to your destination, and it cannot expire during your trip. Make sure you have enough room in your passport to receive your stamp from immigration.
