Staff very polite and helpful. I was convinced that I needed physical damage insurance from your website, so I purchased it. Then, when I arrived in Spain, I was led to believe by the car rental company that it was not sufficient coverage at all, and was basically coerced into buying yet more coverage. So, I bought two separate insurance policies for the same vehicle and time period. Not real happy with this arrangement. In the future, I'm thibking my best bet would be to simply rent directly from the rental car company. Caveat emptor.

Great experience renting Avis through Kayak. Cheaper than direct, as was the insurance they suggested. Pick up/drop off at Barcelona airport was far less stressful than I imagined.

We had to wait in line for 1.5 hours to get our car. Totally unacceptable and an amazingly inefficient system. The staff spent more time trying to upsell people on insurance, better cars etc instead of managing the crowd.

It took 2 hours to pickup the car. There was only 4 people ahead of us in line. Super slow process to check in and get the car. The car they gave me didn’t seem to be in the luxury class I ordered. I will not rent here again.

At the check-in I was informed that as the rental was done via a USA based agency and that I was using an EU based credit card and drivers licence , that I was Absolutely OBLIGED to take their full insurance... otherwise the rental would not be honored. This despite I already have a good policy with both my own car and via my gold credit card. The insurance was more than the rental. I feel lied to by Kayak , Europcar, and whatever middle-man you sub-contracted via.

The car we ended up getting was fine.

We paid for a mustang convertible or similar but when we got there they considered a fiat 500 comparable. Then there only Other option was a VW bug convertible, in our minds going on a costal vacation and paying for an upgrade neither of those cars compared. Very unfortunate and put a damper on our trip

Friendliness of staff.

There are two terminals at BCN and I had reserved at #1, but picked up at #2. They told me they didn't have any small cars like I wanted. I could have gone back to terminal #1 and gotten the original car, buty ended up with a much larger and more expensive car. They should coordinate between the two terminals. They didn't inspect the exterior of the car when I picked up, but did when i returned it. This could have been a problem though it wasn't.

Arrived called to make sure where to catch the shuttle and waited.... got to the car rental office and there was no one there from ACE to greet us, waited and asked to make sure we were at the right place. Their was a sign but no one there to help. Than we were told by OK car rental that no one would be there and no one new what to expect... waited another 1/2 hr and no one showed up. I called the US main office and was told that someone should be there to take care of us. No one showed up so I rented car with OK car rental at the Barcelona airport as we had deadlines where we needed to go..... HORRIBLE experience with ACE at the offsite car rental at the BCN El Prat de Llobregat international airport...

booked With ACE all insurance included. Upon Arrival Goldcar Barcelona, tells us, that they do not accept the terms and conditions negotiated by ACE and that ACE has no cars and that we have to accept their conditions otherwise there is no car. I have had an exchange with priceline on this issue - to no avail. It is for me not acceptable that I'm not aware that the subcontractor of ACE (in this case Goldcar) does not accept the conditions of ACE. Goldcar has been condemned for this business practice in Italy, but not yet in Spain. ACE should stop working with Goldcar or make it clearer to the customer, that the contract via internet will not be honoured upon arrival and that more costs are to be expected.
