Online check-in opens 24 hours before the scheduled flight departure and closes 90 minutes before.
Check-in desks at the airport close 90 minutes before departure for those checking baggage into the hold or 60 minutes before departure for passengers with carry-on bags only.
Mobile check-in is also available.
Hand luggage: Economy-Class passengers are allowed to bring one piece of hand luggage no heavier than 7kg with maximum dimensions of 56cm x 38cm x 23cm.
Checked baggage: Two pieces of luggage are allotted, weighing no more than 23kg each.
Excess baggage: Charges depend on destination. No bags weighing more than 32kg are permitted. For all flights to and from Canada the cost is $175 per piece.
Seat pitch: 79-86cm.
Passengers can select their seats via the Manage a Booking page provided they booked their flights online. Passengers travelling with small children and infants as well as First and Business-Class flyers and Skywards members can also select their own seats. Some things can be changed via the Manage a Booking page. These include contact details, requested seats and frequent-flyer number. For other changes, passengers should contact their local Emirates office. There may be fees associated with making changes to the ticket.
Discounts are available for infants under the age of two and children between the ages of two and 11. Check with the airline when booking.
Senior fares are not available on Emirates.
Pets and service animals are not allowed to travel in the cabin with their owners. They are transported in the aircraft hold for an extra charge.
There are three ways of transporting musical instruments: as checked baggage (part of the baggage allowance), as cabin baggage (part of the allowance) and as cabin baggage on an unoccupied seat. Passengers may have to buy a seat for the musical instrument if it is too big or too heavy.
Economy class flyers enjoy complimentary drinks in-flight. Meals include a salad, hors d’oeuvre, choice of two main courses, dessert, chocolates, tea and coffee, and liqueurs. The ICE entertainment system offers information like BBC News, communication by phone, SMS, email, and more than 600 channels of movies, television, audio and games.
