Cheap Car Rentals in Seattle/Tacoma Intl Airport from C$ 46

They didn’t have the vehicle we specifically ordered. The young guy just kept telling us to pick any other car, at an up charge of course. We settled on a VW suv. On our 3rd day, the check engine coolant light came on and the coolant level was low. We had to go to an auto supply store and purchase coolant. On the way there I called customer service to find out what we should do if we continue to have engine issues and they weren’t much help. When we dropped the vehicle off, the gentleman, Mark, was very understanding and discounted our bill for the price of the coolant.

Service was excellent on both ends. Car windows were really dirty and the car created a lot of road noise. Tires looked worn, might have contributed, but so do Washington rain roads lol!! Overall a decent experience.

Customer service at rental desk was superb. Went down to get our vehicle was extremely easy. Car was super clean. Returning our vehicle was exceptionally quick and easy! Gentlemen who checked us out took no time which allowed us to get to our shuttle so we didn’t have to wait in the long cold line to get to the airport. Made it plenty of time to check in and take off back home! Would definitely rent again when I’m back in Seattle!

The cost of the insurance for a day was higher than the cost of the rental.

Could not find my reservation and charged me more than.was listed on Kayak.

They definitely needed a lot more people for check in. Took close to an hour. Also, I paid for the additional driver and they ended up doing the calculations in a way that they charged tax on the entire vehicle cost and additional driver instead of just the additional driver (since I had already paid the other costs). So my tax was like $7 higher than it should have been. Its not a lot of money, but it is the principle.

I understand it was a holiday but it took two hours to get a rental car that I had already paid for. The car had multiple major dents and scratches and then Hertz said it was my responsibility to go to their website (no one could tell me exactly where on the website) and up load my pictures. The person that checked me out and was supposed to identify the pre-existing damage, basically handed me the form and said for me to write it down. There was no space on the form to adequately document it. I took pictures and video showing the Hertz employee the pre-existing damage before we left. It started my vacation on a negative note. I will never again rent from Hertz.

Very bad staff and quality of Cars

Car was good. I had a terrible experience on collection - a 3 hour wait to collect the car. I got to the Avis collection desk at midnight to discover a huge long line. I didn't get my car until 3am. This was specifically the Avis collection desk at Seattle (SEA) airport.

Pick up took an unnecessarily long time. There were three employees working the desk and nobody was moving quickly to get through the long line of customers. One was joking around with another customer and then took about 5 minutes in a back room looking for a pen. Once we finally completed paperwork, there was no vehicle in the parking spot we were assigned. I went to a kiosk labeled “customer service” and after waiting in line was told that I should have gone to another stand as this particular one was for drop offs. There was no mention of this on any signage. I insisted that they help me as I had been waiting for some time in line already and he reluctantly agreed to help. He said he was supposed to be on a lunch break but nobody was coming to relieve him. We were assigned a new car and it was in the spot we were instructed to go to. The car had clearly not been cleaned after the prior customer. There was food spilled in the front cup holders, wrappers stashed throughout the car and we found some of the previous customers belongings in the console. The car itself was good, worked great and was the type of vehicle I had reserved. The pick up experience was terrible and I don’t intend to rent from this particular budget branch in the future.
