Toronto’s historic St. Lawrence market comprises three main buildings: the South Market, the North Market and St. Lawrence Hall, and is the city’s largest market. The South Market is home to more than 120 specialty vendors selling everything from fruit, vegetables,  meats, cheese, baked goods, prepared food and fresh fish. The North Market is where you’ll find a farmer’s market every Saturday that began in 1803 and still thrives today, and on Sundays the same area is home to more than 80 antique vendors.

St. Lawrence Market was built in the 18oos and is a favourite Toronto destination for both locals and tourists alike. You never know what you’re going to find when you walk through the doors. The sights, smells and abundance of things to buy make it a fun, energetic place to spend a morning or afternoon. If you’re hungry, the options for appeasing your appetite are plenty. Grab some fish and chips from Buster’s Sea Cove, healthy vegan fare at Cruda or a world famous peameal bacon sandwich from Carousel Bakery.

Here are some pictures to help you get to know this Toronto landmark a little better.
