It’s Compass Report time again, our annual look at the affordability of the most popular travel destinations for Canadians. We analyzed more than 11.5 million searches from the last 12 months on Cheapflights.ca to help Canadian travellers see how their favourite spots stack up and where they can head for added savings. Our national rankings show how the 101 most popular spots, determined by searches from six departure points across the country, compare on price but, to give Ottawans an added leg up, we also created an affordability ranking of the 25 most-searched destinations from Ottawa based on average roundtrip airfares*. Digging through all those numbers helped us dig up a lot of interesting local insights and cost-saving information. For example, if Asia is on your bucket list, try Tokyo, Japan, over Bangkok, Thailand, to save ($1,170 vs. $1,291 average roundtrip airfare from Ottawa).

Scroll down to find out more about what we learned and to see the list of Ottawa’s most popular destinations ranked by affordability.

*All airfares are roundtrip, in Canadian dollars and include taxes.
