Mobile boarding passes

At Sun Country Airlines, you can check-in at the airport or online, depending on your destination. Online check-in is available no more than 24 hours prior to and up to one hour before your scheduled departure time for travel within the U.S. If you’re taking an international flight, you’ll need to check-in at the counter with a Sun Country agent. Note that mobile boarding passes are currently not available at Sun Country.

Priority boarding

Sun Country does not offer a priority boarding option.

Flying with children

Children under two years of age can travel at no charge if they’re held on an adult’s lap for the entire flight. An infant is defined as a child at least eight days old and under two years of age. Note that infants less than eight days old are not allowed on any Sun Country flights. An infant can be added to your reservation when booking online, or by calling Reservations. If you are traveling with a lap-held infant, you’ll need to check-in with an agent at the airport check-in counter.

Unaccompanied children

Sun Country Airlines allows children aged 5-17 years to travel unaccompanied on all non-stop flights within the U.S. or to/from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Children who are 5-12 years of age and travelling without an adult are required to purchase the unaccompanied minor service, details of which can be found here.

Seating for babies and children

Travellers can purchase seats for infants, or travel with them as lap-held infants at no charge. You do need to purchase a seat for all travellers two years of age and older. When a seat is purchased for an infant or young child, it’s recommended that you use an FAA-approved child restraint device (i.e., car seat) for safety, but it isn’t required if the infant or young child is able to sit upright on his or her own and be secured with the aircraft seatbelt.

Senior fares

Sun Country Airlines does not offer senior fares.

Group booking

Sun Country Airlines offers affordable group options for travel to more than 35 destinations throughout the U.S., Mexico, Costa Rica, and the Caribbean. There are a few options when it comes to how to go about booking group travel.

Travel Pack: Travel Pack from Sun Country Vacations is an option for friends and family travelling on different days and different flights, as long as everyone in the group is staying at the same hotel or resort and travelling within seven days before or after the first person on the booking travels.

Group Vacations: Flight and hotel group travel is a good option for travellers who want to travel on the same dates and lock in flights, hotel rooms and prices for the entire group at the time of booking. Note that to qualify as a flight and hotel group, there must be 20 or more passengers travelling together who need 10 or more rooms.

Group Flights: Sun Country’s flight-only offering is designed for groups of 10 or more passengers travelling from the same origin to the same destination, and on the same itinerary.

Disability access & medical equipment

On Sun Country flights, some portable items such as walkers and canes can be stored in the aircraft cabin as long as they don’t impede access to emergency exits or protrude into the aisle. If possible, these items should be stowed in a closet or overhead bin per Sun Country’s carry-on baggage requirements. Wheelchairs may be checked at the ticket counter or at the gate free of charge.

If you’re going to be using a Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC) onboard, you need to present a statement from your doctor with a date of issue that does not exceed one year prior to the date of your flight departure.

Pets & guide dogs

Sun Country welcomes animals trained to help passengers with mobility, visual, and hearing disabilities onboard at no charge. Note that if you do bring an animal on a flight to assist you, it needs to remain seated on the floor at your feet so as to not obstruct an aisle or other area used for emergency evacuation.

When travelling outside the U.S. and its Territories, you’ll need to have documentation showing that the animal’s health (e.g. vaccinations, health certification, etc.) is up-to-date and readily available for customs agents to avoid delays or the possibility of the animal being quarantined.

If you are travelling with a Psychiatric Assist or Emotional Support animal, you need to provide Sun Country with a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to your initial flight. To do this you can submit an Accessibility Request or call Sun Country Airlines at 877-888-1404.
