There are plenty of nudist (also called naturist, or ‘clothing optional’) resorts around the world. These vacation spots aim to create an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation that allow people to connect and be part of the natural world.

Most resorts are geared toward entire families and are eager to help those new to the world of nudism feel at ease in their own skin. Some resorts are also not expressly nudist but instead adopt a clothing-optional policy. We’ve compiled a list of nudist resorts around the world that will be happy to go the extra mile for you — whether you’re an experienced nudist or a first-timer…

Ponderosa Nature Resort, Flamborough, Ontario, Canada

Spacious countryside surrounds you here at Ponderosa. Nature trails wind through rows of pine, cedar and mature hardwoods. From an overnight camp site for your tents to full service year-round occupancy locations, Ponderosa has the facilities for you. And for those who would prefer a comfortable resort room with a view, there are numerous beautifully appointed guest suites available at the clubhouse. Eden Naturally, Whangarei, New Zealand

Originally from England, hosts Karen and Richard settled in Whangarei 14 years ago and began Eden Naturally, a clothing-optional bed and breakfast. However, they don’t mix naturist and non-naturist bookings.

Domaine Emeraude, St-Francois-du-Lac, Quebec, Canada

This men-only naturist resort features a campground and plenty of activities. Domaine Emeraude prides itself on its friendly, welcoming atmosphere and invites visitors to unwind and be social.

Nuzone Bed and Breakfast, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

This clothing-optional bed and breakfast is geared toward the gay community. Situated in downtown Montreal, the accommodations offer visitors an easy jumping off point for exploring the city. Hop on public transportation or take advantage of the fact that many of Montreal’s hot spots are within easy walking distance.

Finca Restonica, Costa Del Sol, Spain

You’ll be treated to the beauty of the Andalucian countryside at this resort along Costa Del Sol. Hosts Paul and Jean are naturists who moved from England to Spain for the sun and the friendly people. This resort is tucked away and serves up plenty of privacy, but sits close to the town of Coin where you can find places to dine, shop and pamper yourself.

Valley View Recreation Club, Cambridge, Wisconsin

This nudists’ club in rural Wisconsin serves up a relaxing, stress-free naturist getaway. With more than 17 acres of lawn, a heated pool and plenty of activities, this is a place to free yourself of cares (and clothing).

The ‘Naked City’, Cap d’Agde, France

If you’re looking for an entire town where you can roam about in the nude, Cap D’Agde along the French Mediterranean is probably your best bet. In the summer as many as 40,000 people flock here every day.

Hangin’ Loose Clothing Optional Retreat, Hilo, Hawaii

Where else can you swim nude with dolphins? This retreat in Hawaii serves up nearby volcanoes to visit as well as clothing-optional beaches. Aloha!

Abbott’s Glen, Halifax, Vermont

This clothing-optional inn situated in southern Vermont is a year-round vacation destination catering to couples, singles and families. Get a massage, take part in Vermont’s many outdoor activities or just relax over a good meal.

Paradise Gardens, Cincinnati, Ohio

This family-oriented nudist resort makes having fun a focal point. Community bonding, events for kids and plenty of outdoor time are all part of the program. Call ahead if you plan to stay over night.

Lupin Lodge, Los Gatos, California

A San Francisco Bay area clothing-optional resort, Lupin Lodge is a place to relax in the buff. Come for a few hours to shed your clothing and take part in some nude recreation or spend the night in a cabin, yurt or on a campsite.

Eagle Peak, Alumnecar, Spain

What’s not to love about 320 days of annual sunshine? From nude snorkelling to nude safaris, this place seems to have thought of everything (including nude dances).

Hidden River, St. George, Georgia

With 88 acres of land, Hidden River serves up a nudist camp and nude recreation on the Florida-Georgia border in the American South. Run in a ‘5K Streak’, play nude volleyball or just unwind and reconnect with nature.

Based out of Ontario, this is a great resource for Canadians interested in all aspects of a nudist lifestyle.
