Check-in opens three hours before departure and closes one hour before the flight is scheduled to take off.
Sunwing baggage allowance
Hand luggage: One piece of hand luggage is allowed per customer. The total baggage allowance is 25kg and includes both checked and hand luggage. The piece of hand luggage should not be heavier than 5kg.
Checked: Passengers have a free baggage allowance (checked and carry-on combined) of 25kg. Elite Plus travellers have an extra 10kg. Checked and carry-on luggage combined should not exceed 35kg.
Excess: The excess baggage charge is $10 per kg on domestic or trans-border routes and $20 per kg on international routes.

Pre-arranged seating
Exit-row seats are sold as part of the Elite Plus Program. Buy one of these seats through Reservations (not online) at the time of booking or at least 24 hours before departure for $35 each way for domestic and US flights, or $40 each way on international flights. If these seats are still available at check-in, they can be purchased at that time for the same price.
Passenger change details
Sunwing's Canada Flight Protection Plan costs $49 and allows for cancellations or changes to flights flights up to three hours prior to departure. Departure date, gateway or destination changes are permitted under this protection plan with no penalties. Name changes are not covered. See full details here.
Child fares
Infants under two can travel free of charge on an accompanying adult's lap. There are no other child fares available.
Senior fares
There are no senior discounts.
Pets
Only service animals may travel with their owners in the cabin.
Carrying musical instruments
Musical instruments which exceed carry-on dimensions of 22cm x 40cm x 50cm and weigh more than 10kg must be checked. If the weight exceeds the 25kg combined allowance excess charges will apply – $10 per kg on domestic/transborder routes and $20 per kg on international routes.
In-flight service
In-flight service features a glass of champagne, choice of a hot meal or snacks, wine, soft drinks, hot towel service, pillows, headset, first-run movies and a kid’s backpack with games and toys.

Airline overview
Sunwing Airlines was launched in 2005 as a subsidiary of Sunwing Vacations, offering flights within Canada and to the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. In Oct. 2009, a merger between the Sunwing Travel Group and Signature Vacations was announced.
