Travellers taking El Al flights have several check-in options. Early Check-In from home is available six to 24 hours before scheduled departure on all flights departing from Israel. The fee is $79. Online check-in (Express Check-In) is available to all flyers holding an electronic ticket. For flights to Israel, Express Check-In is available between 24 and three hours before take-off. Returning from Israel, Express Check-In is available between 27 and three hours before the scheduled departure. It is recommended that you check in at least two hours before the scheduled departure of your flight.
Hand luggage: Economy-Class flyers are allowed to bring one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 8kg and no bigger than 56cm x 45cm x 25cm. First-Class flyers are allowed two pieces, up to 24kg.
Checked baggage: Checked baggage allowance on flights to Tel Aviv is two bags weighing up to 23kg each.
Excess: From Toronto, the excess baggage rates for pieces heavier than 23kg is $25. For a piece of luggage heavier than 32kg, the fee is $155. An extra piece of luggage weighing up to 23kg will be charged $230 each way, a piece heavier than 23kg costs $255 each way, and a bag weighing more than 40kg will be charged the cost of two additional pieces of luggage.

On Toronto-Tel Aviv flights, the child discount is 75 percent. Infants fly for 10 percent of the adult fare.

Dogs, cats or birds weighing up to 8kg will be accepted for carriage in the cabin with their owner. Reservations must be notified in advance. Pets weighing more than 8kg (including their container) will be accepted for carriage in the hold of the aircraft only.
Meals and drinks are complimentary for all passengers. A huge range of special meals are available, including vegetarian, vegan, fruit, chicken, diabetic and Asian. For special meals, reserve at least 24 hours before departure. There are individual screens for all flyers showing new films, news, sports and Israeli entertainment programs.
Matmid is El Al’s frequent flyer program. Points accumulated in the program entitle members to bonus tickets, upgrades, and discounts on car rentals, hotels, and other products and services.
