Canadian Fly-In Fishing

Fly in Just to Cast

Fly-in fishing is a popular outdoor sport that enjoys great popularity in Canada. Using a float plane (that typically seats four to six passengers in addition to the pilot), fly-fishing and hunting out fitters fly guests from the nearest major airport or city point to the remote destination for the weekend. Outfitters will usually provide everything you need for your stay, including food and accommodation, which can range from extremely rustic to elegant. Catchable fish include Northern Pike, Walleye, Arctic Grayling and Trout. The locations of fly-in fishing outposts range, though there’s a large concentration in British Columbia and Ontario. To get your started, we’ve included some resources:

Sydney Lake
Red Lake, OntarioSydney Lake is fly-in only, reached by a 46-mile flight on a float equipped sea plane. Since there is not drive-in access or settlements, the lakes receive less fishing pressure and therefore have excellent fishing.
