For budget travellers: Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago

Travellers looking to head to the Caribbean in June will want to take a look at airfare to Trinidad and Tobago. Flights to Port of Spain are more than 20 per cent lower than average for travel in the month of June. Port of Spain is a waterfront town with plenty of options for visitors, with attractions ranging from zoos and botanical gardens to national art museums and lighthouses. Port of Spain is also a great jumping off point with easy access to nearby beaches like Maracas, only an hour away by car.

For weather watchers: Havana, Cuba

Peak season for travel to Havana is from December to May, but by delaying just one month, travellers can miss the crowds and get their fill of summertime heat and sunshine without being smack in the middle of the rainy or hurricane season. This chance at an early taste of summer will have you saying, “another round of Cuba Libres, por favor.” Never been to Cuba before? Prepare for your trip with insider information from a first-time visitor with our “14 things I wish I’d known before visiting Cuba“.

For the best of both: Fort Lauderdale, Florida, U.S.

South Florida is a popular destination year round. But, if your goal is to hit the beach between the crazy winter crowds and sweltering summer heat, June is the perfect window of opportunity. With airfares well below the highs of the winter sun and spring break travel seasons, this is one of the most affordable times of the year for flights from Canada to Fort Lauderdale. Grab this relative bargain and make the most of the beachfront options Fort Lauderdale has to offer. Or head to nearby Miami, where there is a wide variety of cheap and free things to keep travellers occupied. Not sure which Florida city to set your sights on? For trendsetters: Croatia

Our data shows a surge in flight searches for travel from Canada to both Dubrovnik and Zagreb in June, signalling that Croatia will be a hot spot for early summer visits. Dubrovnik and its walled Old City offer a perfect combination of food and fun for both beach and culture-chasing travellers, while Croatia’s capital city, Zagreb, has plenty to offer in the way of cafes, museums and theatre. And, with a recent increase in low-cost carriers travelling between Canada and Zagreb, it makes for an especially affordable European getaway.

For advanced planners: Autumn in Paris, France

Early June is a great time to look for a deal to Paris in the autumn months. On average, the best airfares to Paris are for flights the last week of September followed closely by the third weeks of October and November. The window for booking the best deals for any of those travel times is the first 10 days of June. So, whether you’re looking for a budget-friendly romantic getaway or are more interested in getting in touch with authentic Parisian culture, fall is the best time to do so.
