The business class cabin is really nice - EXCEPT the two interior seats have no divider between them - which makes for a bad experience -especially when the person next to you coughs excessively with no protection. Basically, the person is looking at you and coughing at you the WHOLE FLIGHT. Most major airlines have a sliding divider you can close for privacy and safety reasons. The window seats do not have this problem - so if you book business class and are traveling solo - make sure to get a window seat - I didn't and regretted it.

  • How long is the flight to Davao?

The length of travel time from Canada to Davao, Philippines can vary from 21h to 76h with layovers from 45min to 52h 50min. The duration is not only due to layovers (how many and for how long), but it also depends on where you fly out of Canada. Davao flight deals can start at the three biggest metropolitan Canadian cities, Vancouver, Montreal, and Toronto. In addition, these flights can also depart from Calgary, Winnipeg, and Edmonton.

  • Are there nonstop flights to Davao?

There are no nonstop flights into Francisco Bangoy International Airport (DVO), Davao from Canada at this time. If you fly out of Vancouver International Airport (YVR) there are plenty of options for a one-stop flight with Philippine Airlines to Manila. If you fly from Winnipeg, Edmonton, or Calgary you’ll generally have two layovers, with the first layover being in Vancouver and the next in Manila with Philippine Airlines. From Toronto, you will also have the first layover in Vancouver, except if you fly with Cathay Airlines, then your first stop is Hong Kong. • How do you get from Davao airport(s) to the city center?

Davao city center is about 10 km away from the airport and there are a couple of options to get there. Transport to the city center includes private airport transfer, a Jeepney (a public bus), Grab (Southeast Asia’s Uber), or a taxi. Out of all these options, we recommend a taxi for convenience, pricing, and ease of travel. Taxis from the airport are metered and can take you directly to your hotel/city center for about C$ 4-7, depending on what part of the city you’re heading. Airport private transfer is more expensive than a taxi but gives you the same result. Jeepneys are not allowed at the airport, so you will have to walk to the main road with your luggage. Grab is essentially a taxi from the airport, but you’ll have to confirm your ride via the app and then pay an extra Grab fee.

For shopping and food, you can explore the Aldevinco Shopping Center, which is full of all kinds of craft goods. After that, you can walk over to the Roxas Night Market and try local cuisines. Davao is also home to the Crocodile Park and the Philippine Eagle Center if you’re an animal enthusiast.
