When my flight was diverted to amTampa the customer service was able to switch my pick up City very quickly

It was a bit of a challenge finding a car that worked or wasn’t damaged. We went through three - first one engine light was on, so had to drive back, second wouldn’t start, third electronics didn’t work - seats didn’t move, couldn’t plug things in, other issues in dashboard. We finally settled on an SUV that was beautiful. But not even 30 min in to drive both tires on right side were low on air. I filled them up. But noticed a gradual decline throughout using the car. And had to fill them up again to bring the car back - but tire pressure was still low. I also prepaid for the car. They didn’t have my car type. So I had to upgrade - which should be free. But it wasn’t. The guy told it was only going to be $500 extra. Which I said ok. I received a bill for over $1000. The customer rep was very nice - but it was a bit of a gong show. Overall not sure I’d recommend.

They had QR codes in the airport and sent an email beforehand to have you pre-register with your name date of birth and drivers license number. I did this while I was waiting in line for almost 30 minutes at budget as there was no advantage of doing this before hand because you had to wait in the same line, however, it registered me for my Rental at the time that I put in this information which added an hour onto the rental, and they charged me for it. Then, when I returned the car, they did not go out and inspect, just asked me if I filled up the car. And then received a charge for fuel service, even though the receipt showed that I returned the car full. It felt like they were looking for every opportunity to add erroneous charges onto the price line price in hopes that people would not catch it.

The staff was not friendly at all at the budget offsite. They gave us a car with multiple warning lights on that we had to return for another car halfway to our destination. A total inconvenience!!!!

Hidden costs

They should verify the vehicle passenger window was not opening

I didn’t like the hidden fees which quickly added up to an expensive rental. They should be upfront about their so called additional fees which aren’t optional.

I entered in my information for a different drop off point and when I submitted my order, it just reverted back to where I was initially picking up the car because you dont have a drop off in maimi . At that point there was no way that I could get my money back so this was a complete waste of $165. We had to rent another car for $600 because of this bullshit

So, our flight was delayed and apparently they will only hold your rental car for one hour! There were 3 people ahead of us that all were charged and they couldn’t provide any of a car for this same reason. They said all of their other cars were already reserved. We had been traveling all day, had lugged our luggage around and found out we didn’t have a rental car but still were charged! It was so infuriating!

The attendant upon pick up was the most rude rental car person I have ever dealt with. The car has mechanical issues including gas over filling. There were so many dents and scratches I made my own videos. The attendant upon check out was VERY professional. I will still never use them again.

Please put somewhere on the website that when someone is going to drop off at a different location, they must use a credit card - cannot use debit card.

They wouldn’t accept my reservation. They said it wasn’t reserved directly from Avis. I was there over an hour. I still don’t know what the final charge will be.
