Dallas Stars

Founded in 1967 as the Minnesota North Stars, they relocated to Dallas in the 1993-94 season. They’ve won seven division titles in Dallas, two President's Trophies as well as the coveted Stanley Cup in 1998-99. Brothers on the team and in real life, Derian and Kevin Hatcher were recently inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame.

Anaheim Ducks

Founded in 1993 by the Walt Disney Company and named after the 1992 film The Mighty Ducks, the Anaheim Ducks, have made the playoffs seventeen times. The also won their first Stanley Cup in 2007. Wild Wing is the official mascot of the Ducks and a third jersey design has just been unveiled for the 2010-11 season.

Phoenix Coyotes

The Phoenix Coyotes were founded in 1972 as the Winnipeg Jets, but later moved to Phoenix in 1996. From 2005-2009, famed NHL star Wayne Gretzky was part owner and head of hockey operations. In 2010, the Coyotes made it to the play offs for the first time since the 2001-02 season.

San Jose Sharks

Bringing hockey back to the bay area for the first time since the 1970’s, the San Jose Sharks (born in 1991) have seen a steady increase in their success as a professional hockey team. With an enthusiastic fan base in the Bay Area and rollicking game traditions that include entering the arena through a Shark’s head accompanied by Metallica songs, the Sharks’ are a feisty bunch.

Los Angles Kings

The Los Angeles Kings were founded in 1966, won their division in 1990-91 and played in the Stanley Cup Finals in 1992-93. Wayne Gretzky once played on the team, and they are currently owned by Anschutz Entertainment and managed by Dean Lombardi.

They hold the NHL record for the longest consecutive attendance sell outs at 487. They recorded their 500th home sellout in 2007. Joe Sacco is the head coach and Greg Sherman is the general manager.

Minnesota Wild
Xcel Energy Center - 199 W. Kellogg Blvd., Saint Paul, MN 55102
Founded in 2000, the Minnesota Wild — referred to often simply as “The Wild” — is the first NHL franchise in Minnesota since the Minnesota North Stars moved to Dallas. The Wild played their first play-off in the 2002-03 season. The Minnesota are owned by Minnesota Sports & Entertainment, are managed by Chuck Fletcher and coached by Todd Richards.
