Airlines across the globe have built compatible air miles and code-sharing programs. If you’re a frequent flyer, you could get some extra benefits if you know which airlines work together.

Oneworld Alliance

Website: www.oneworld.com. Oneworld travels to more than 727 destinations in 142 countries. It has a combined fleet of approximately 2,500 aircraft. There are 11 member airlines:

 

Star Alliance

Website: www.staralliance.com. Established in 1997, Star Alliance is the largest of the three airline alliances. Its airlines fly to more than 1,000 airports in 171 countries - almost 20,000 flights each day. Member airlines:

 

SkyTeam

Website: www.skyteam.com. SkyTeam flies to more than 900 destinations. It has nine member airlines and two associate airlines: AirEuropa and Kenya Airways.
