Canada turns 147 on July 1! Celebrate this birthday with some fun festivities all across Canada. Not sure where to get in on the Canada Day action? We have the scoop on the best celebrations in the nation.

Ottawa

Catch the fireworks in the nation’s capital, Ottawa, on July 1 with a display at Jacques-Cartier Park. Canada Day festivities for the whole family begin at 10 a.m., but the fireworks show goes from 7 p.m. to 10:45pm.

Halifax

Halifax is known as the number one tourist destination in Atlantic Canada for July 1 and it’s easy to see why: they know how to celebrate! This year, Sam Roberts Band will perform along with other great Canadian acts. Enjoy several Canada Day activities and events throughout the day and watch the fireworks over Halifax Harbour starting at 10 p.m.

Toronto

If you’ll be in Toronto over the Canada Day long weekend, you can head to Mel Lastman Square in North York where the city’s official Canada Day celebrations will be held. Starting at 5 p.m. there will be live entertainment, activities and fireworks that will start at 10:15 p.m.

St. John’s

If you have kids, you can start your Canada Day fun in St. John’s at Confederation Hill where there will be a kids’ carnival complete with bouncy castles and face painting. A cultural concert will also take place and fireworks will start at 10 p.m. at Quidi Vidi Lake.

Montreal

Themed activity tents representing each province, a Canada Day birthday cake, inflatable village, cannon salute, live music and more are all part of Montreal’s Canada Day festivities. Be sure to check out the fireworks at 10:15 p.m. for a spectacular show.

Victoria

Canada Day celebrations in Victoria will involve live performances, family-friendly events, an intenational food village dubbed “Flavour of Canada”, and of course, a fireworks display. Fireworks start at 10:20 p.m.

Vancouver

Canada Day at Canada Place in Vancouver is the largest Canada Day celebration outside of the nation’s capital. 13 hours of free events including live entertainment, a parade, lumberjack show, sports zone and more. Catch the fireworks starting at 10:30 p.m.

Regina

You can celebrate Canada Day in Regina at Wascana Park with a day full of live entertainment beginning at noon, including performances by Big Sugar and Wide Mouth Mason. There is also a beer garden, kids and teens stage, and a fireworks display at 10:30 p.m. Sit by the lakeshore for the best view.

Calgary

Calgary’s Canada Day fireworks will be set off from Centre Street Bridge, which will mean you can catch a pretty good view of them from just about anywhere in the city. The show starts at 10:45 p.m.

Winnipeg

Celebrate Canada Day at the Forks in Winnipeg featuring both live entertainment and fun activities for all ages. Enjoy an obstacle course, games, free photo booth and grab some grub at the public market. Fireworks begin at 11 p.m.
