Known to have some of the most beautiful beaches in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Tao should be on any beach-lovers itinerary. Also known as Turtle Island, Koh Tao is a haven for scuba divers and snorkellers.
There are many beautiful beaches to choose from though some are much busier than others. Depending on what you’re after – be it lounging, snorkelling or swimming – there is a beach that’s right for you. And no matter which beach you choose you will be blessed with white sand and impossibly turquoise water. In other words, it’ll be tough to leave once you stake out your stretch of sand.
In addition to undersea adventures and beach time, visitors to Koh Tao have a few other things they can do. The hilly landscape makes for plenty of opportunities to hike, you can book boat trips from most beaches on the island which vary in cost, but take you to several different beaches to explore, and if you’re still looking for something to do you can try sea kayaking or bouldering (a form of rock climbing).
