Palma Nova is located on the southwest coast of Mallorca. Along with Magaluf, Palma Nova is very popular with British holidaymakers. Mostly package tourists, they know that their Palma Nova flights will deliver them to a resort that is very busy and built up. However, it has all the tourist amenities - the bars, restaurants, good range of accommodation and shops, and, of course, the big sandy beach, sparkling waters and great weather.
Quieter than its neighbour Magaluf, it is a firm favourite with families.
See sharks, dolphin shows and crocodile ponds at Marineland which is where Palma Nova and Magaluf merge into one another – often known as Meganova.
To prevent the excesses of tourism the area has pulled down the worst hotels. Other activities have been introduced such as guided walks and – great idea – wheelchairs that go in the water so that disabled people can enjoy being in the warm sea.
