For culture lovers, the Paramount Theatre hosts concerts and Broadway shows, while great food and wine may be sampled at a variety of restaurants, coffee shops on West Main Street or The Corner, which is dotted with college bars and shops. The University of Virginia Art Museum exhibits work from more than 10 000 art objects in its collection. The Confederate Soldier monument, located in court square offers one of Charlottesville's most visited landmarks. Every fourth of July an annual celebration is held in Monticello.

There is a city bus service for those who prefer seeing the sights by bus. Rental cars, taxis, and bicycle tours are also offered in the city. Parts of Charlottesville are great to tour on foot, but caution should be exercised after dark.
