Getting around Bournemouth

Getting around Bournemouth is easy to do.  The town centre is small enough to walk around, however if you wish to travel further afield there are plenty of reliable local bus services.  You can even buy a getting about ticket which is cheaper and can be used to travel to the nearby resort of Poole.  Another option to get out and about is to hire a bicycle.  It's a great way to keep fit while enjoying the views.

Getting downtown

Bournemouth Airport (BOH) is only around four miles (6.5 km) north east of town.  There are scheduled flights that serve Western Europe, the Mediterranean, as well as domestic flights in the UK.  It will only take you around 20 minutes to travel into town from the airport by taxi, bus or minibus.  Do remember to agree a fixed price when getting into an airport taxi before setting off for your accommodation. Taxis, buses and minibuses can all be found just outside the main arrivals hall.
