The beaches of Fort Myers are a gateway to several islands including the northern barrier islands of North Captiva, Cayo Costa and Gasparilla. Only accessible by boat, they make for a great day trip.

Linked to the mainland by a short toll road, Sanibel boasts soft sandy beaches on its Gulf side and bays, creeks, and the J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on the east.

The Captiva Island beaches have been described as America's most romantic. The sandy beaches, rare sea shells, gentle, lapping waves and warm breezes are a recipe for a do-nothing vacation.

Fort Myers Beach is considered one of the best family-friendly beaches in the southeastern United States. Most of the action is at “Times Square,” but the rest of the island is more relaxed.
