The best time to travel to Baton Rouge is between February and April, when the weather is usually comfortable and the heat and humidity are not at peak levels.

Public buses travel all over Baton Rouge, but they run infrequently. Take the Capitol Park Trolley to get around the downtown area for free. Your most convenient option is probably renting a car, but you have to be at least 25 years old and have a valid driver’s licence, passport and major credit card. Some rental car agencies might rent you a car if you’re 21, but they will charge you a surcharge.
