Halifax Robert L. Stanfield International is the only airport in the region to offer US pre-clearance. Opened in June 1960, the airport has two runways and serves 3.5 million passengers per year. There are 27 airlines at the airport including Air Canada and WestJet.

Taxi: Taxi services are available from in front of the Domestic Arrivals area. Limousine: Limousine services are available from in front of the Domestic Arrivals area. Bus: Airbus (tel: +1 902 873 2091) runs a shuttle service from the airport via numerous hotels in the area and connects to Halifax Regional Municipality’s Metro Transit (tel: +1 902 490 4000), which runs bus, ferry and community transit services. Acadian Lines (tel: +1 902 454 9321) also operates a bus service to/from the airport. Shuttles depart for Sydney, Annapolis Valley, Yarmouth, Truro and Prince Edward Island. Money and communications: Bureau de change, travel insurance, post box and fax services are all available at TravelExtra Canada, on the main level of the terminal. There are ATMs located on the main level and the Departures level. Telephones with Internet access are situated throughout the Departures lounge. Internet kiosks are situated throughout the terminal. Eating and drinking: There is a wide selection of food outlets, from fast-food to a delicatessen, situated on the main level and in Departures; there is also a pub/restaurant and a 24-hour coffee shop in Departures.
Shopping: The shops at the airport are located in the main level and Departures level and include a gift shop and newsagents stand, duty free in Departures, a seafood shop and a liquor store, as well as a quality craft shop. A convenience store is situated in Arrivals.
Luggage: Left luggage is located in the lower lobby of the centre tunnel entrance to the airport. There is a lost property office in the security office, located in Room B1063C in the centre tunnel of the terminal, open daily 24 hours (tel: 902 873 1039).
Other facilities: There is an airport chapel located on the mezzanine level. Children's play areas are located throughout the Departures lounge.

The Airport Hotel (tel: +1 902 873 3000 or 800 667 3333 toll free USA and Canada only) is situated 0.6 miles (1km) from the airport and runs a free shuttle service. The Inn On The Lake (tel: 800 463 6465 toll free USA and Canada only) is located 6 miles (10km) from the airport. The Quaich Bed & Breakfast (tel: +1 902 860 1667) in Oakfield, is about 5 miles (9km) from the airport.

The airport has barrier-free access and TDD telephones. It is wheelchair accessible and has reserved parking, as well as lifts between floors. Passengers requiring wheelchairs and special assistance should inform their airline prior to travel.

There is a fax machine and other services available at TravelExtra Canada, on the main level of the terminal, open 6am-10pm. Internet access is also available throughout the terminal. There are no meeting and conference facilities at the airport; meeting rooms are available in the Airport Hotel (tel: +1 902 873 3000 or 800 667 3333 toll free USA and Canada only; fax: +1 902 873 3001), accommodating up to 150 delegates.
