Currently the fourth-largest airline in the U.S., Continental Airlines is based in Houston. In 2010, UAL Corporation, the parent company of United Airlines, bought Continental. For now, the two airlines are continuing with separate operations but will eventually merge under the United Airlines name. Once the two airlines are completely merged, Chicago will be the new hub.
