• Amalienborg Palace is the winter home of the Danish royal couple. The Royal Guard is on duty for 24 hours, with the changing of the guard taking place every day at midday. 
• Christiania, a district that’s a mixture of anarchy and hippie ideals, was founded in 1971. About 1,000 people took over the area of military barracks and created a self-governing pocket with self-contained businesses and judiciary. It’s an alternative society within society. Its citizens make and sell the family-friendly Christiania bikes. There are cafés, restaurants and stalls selling jewellery and other arts and crafts.
