We had a flat caused by a nail. We contacted the Hertz help line number, which happened to be in the States. We were going to be delayed for our ferry from Nanaimo to Vancouver, and wanted a quick fix on site. We were told there was no spare tire in our Pacifica 2022 so we could not fix it quick, be it ourselves or via CAA. The phone service was awful. They kept transferring us to someone else and the line cut several times so we has to redo the same process 3-4 times. We were in Ladysmith BC. They told us there was no Hertz service close to us, Nanaimo, and would have to tow us all the way to Richmond, at the airport, through the ferry. We were going to miss our reserved hotel. So we arranged it by ourselves. We called a tow truck, were towed to the garage. The owner was nice enough to prioritize our request. Our flat tire was fixed, we rescheduled our ferry. We were then able to visit Nanaimo before taking the last ferry. This morning, I was searching on the Pacifica 2022, and it said there was a spare tire, in the back on the left, behind a removable plastic cover.! Very disappointed of the whole experience.
